Usually opening inwards, the main entrance door to your property can really make a statement and greatly enhance the whole look of your home. Designed to your requirements whether it be a traditional cottage style, a contemporary look or a grand Victorian or Georgian door with canopy & pilasters we can use a combination of glass, glazing bars, solid timber panels and mouldings to create a truly bespoke entrance door.

External French doors are often found at the side or rear of a property providing access and views to a garden, patio or balcony. Usually opening outwards, this pair of hinged doors has rebated meeting stiles (where one door overlaps the other when shut) and are traditionally glazed full height allowing a maximum amount of light into the property, however, glazing bars, solid timber panels and mouldings can be incorporated into the design of your French doors to meet your individual requirements.

Stable doors (or Dutch doors) are a door with two halves divided horizontally. As the name suggests, they were originally used in stables where the top half would open outwards to allow a horse to be fed, while the bottom half remained closed to keep the animal inside. The design was adapted for use in domestic properties, usually as a back door opening inwards, ideal for keeping small children and pets indoors while allowing the fresh air in. With both halves bolted together a stable door can also be used as a conventional single door.

Sometimes known as folding sliding doors, a series of three or more door leaves are combined in one frame to create a large glazed area allowing plenty of light into the room. Bi-folding doors are commonly installed at the rear of a property with direct access to a garden or patio area, extending the home outside and ideal when entertaining guests on a warm summer’s day. Available in various opening configurations, the door leaves are hinged together, open outwards, slide and concertina to one or both sides of the frame with minimal effort, providing an uninterrupted transition between indoors and out.

Sliding doors are also commonly referred to as sliding patio doors and operate by sliding left or right, in front or behind one another. Unlike bi-folding doors, this design means that you won’t be able to open up the whole width between inside and outside as part of the width will always be used up by a fixed or sliding door leaf, but they are a popular choice where space is limited outside for bi-folding sets to manoeuvre. Available in two, three or four door leaf designs with various combinations of fixed & sliding leaves, usually glazed full height to allow full view of a garden or patio area.

All external doors are supplied pre-hung into their respective type of frame with locks & handles also pre-fitted, although handles & hinges may be removed prior to delivery.
Door frames are supplied with thermally efficient weatherseals and fitted with weather bars or low-level thresholds where required, offering excellent resistance to the British elements.
Door frames can also be manufactured to include sidelights (a glazed and/or timber panelled area beside the door frame opening) which can either be direct glazed (fixed glass and/or panel fitted directly into the frame) or fitted with a dummy sidelight casement (a dummy fixed casement with glass and/or panels fitted into the frame) to enable symmetry with the door and continuation of the glazing or panel sightlines.
Taller door frames may require a fanlight (glazed area above the door frame) which can either be direct glazed, fitted with a dummy fanlight casement or an opening casement to allow ventilation without the need to open the door.
